Band 1.5 pounds of all purpose fertilizer (20,20,20) for every 100 ft of row. Reapply nitrogen at 6 week intervals.

Plant Development and Care

The secret to good turnips is plenty of even moisture. Provide a constant supply of moisture and grow in soil high in organic matter. They can be planted very early in the season, about 6 weeks before last frost or as soon as soil can be worked. Another crop can be planted in late summer for fall planting.
