Planting Instructions
Plant in rows, beds, and containers.
Sow seeds directly into the garden row on the surface of the soil. Cover the sown seeds with a thin layer of sand or soil. Do not allow soil to crust over the top of germinating seeds. As the plants mature, thin out the seedlings to 1 1/2 " between carrots.
When watering newly planted carrots, make sure to water evenly over the rows so that the soil does not dry out completely. If carrot seeds grow in soil that alternates between wet and dry the carrot root will not grow straight due to branching out as the carrot roots search for water.
