Napa - forms fairly dense heads of overlapping leaves ranging 3 to 6 pounds.
Bok Choy forms head of large white petioles (leaf stems). These petioles are the desirable portion of the plant.
Favorite Varieties
Two Seasons - semi-spreading head with very wide, white petioles. Resists bolting in warm weather.
Michihili Jade
Takii Spring A-1 - Makes two good varieties for the plantings.
Siew Choy - grows excellent upright 18" head with light green stems.

Planting Instructions
Rows: start seed indoors about 4 weeks before transplanting outdoors, or direct seed outdoors using season extenders such as wall-o-waters for protection.
When transplanting or thinning, leave 1' to 2' between plants. Plant in rows 2' to 2 1/2' apart.
Beds: when planting in beds, allow 18" to 24" between each plant, or seed thinly using row cover for protection. Thin to 18" to 24" apart.
Containers: When planting in containers, allow 18" to 24" between each plant.
