SOME GUIDES TO GROWING A HEALTHY LAWN

Monday, May 4th, 2009

The following are some guidelines for growing a healthy lawn this summer:

  • Use a high quality organic fertilizer two or three times per season.
  • Avoid cutting more than one third of the grass blade in any one mowing.
  • Use a high quality thatch degrader once during the early spring.
  • Leave lawn clippings on the lawn (good nutrients).
  • Provide at least 1 inch of water per week.
  • Apply water in the early morning hours before midday.
  • Twice during the year (first cut in the spring and last cut in the fall) cut the blade to a height of two inches.

These guidelines will help limit weeds and pests in your lawn.
