13 Ways To Planting Grape Vines & How Growing Grapes Is Done Correctly

10. Cover with 4 – 6 inches of leaf mulch to keep unwanted weeds away and to conserve the moist in the soil. You can also add manure, grass clippings and coffee grounds to the protective layer.
11. Two weeks after you have planted the grape vines you should add about 1 lb of nitrogen to each plant.
12. Grapes are very sensitive to 2,4-D pesticide which is used among farmers to control dandelions. If you use this anywhere near the grape vines you might find it impossible to get them to grow.
