Gardening – A Beautiful Way To Be Happy

Flowering plants anywhere always gives a soothing effect. And if these are brought indoors, imagine the sanctity it will bring to your home. Plants not only adds to the décor of the home it also uphold the environment of the home fresh and beautiful. You feel relaxed amongst these natural beauties. For those who wish to create such an atmosphere at home, need to take up gardening as a hobby. It will not only bring bliss to your home, but make you feel healthy and your near ones happy as well. You can grow beautiful plants in small tubs and gift them to the ones you love.

After you have decided to do indoor agriculture yourself, the following tools are required to help you. You will require a box, this you can make or you can purchase form the local carpenter. The box should have a hole beneath for draining out water. A tray made of metal is to be placed underneath the box to drain away the extra water without spilling around. You will also need sand-paper, acrylic paints, a paint brush and thinner. And of course, soil, seasonal flower plant seeds, and fertilizer.

First of all you have to smooth out the roughness of the box by rubbing with sand-paper. Then exercise one coats of a primer, let it dry; and then another coat of primer. Primers are also called the base paint. After the base paint has dried completely, paint the box with acrylic paints. You can choose any colour of paint and design to suit the décor of your house or the environment, or any thing which looks pleasing to the eyes. Leave the box to dry fully.

After the paint has dried completely, fix the box at the place of your choice using machine drill or whatever is convenient. Place the drainage tray at the appropriate place. At the inside bottom of the box place a layer of pebbles. Over that you fill the box with soil mixed with compost. Now sow the seeds and cover them with a layer of soil and sprinkle the soil with water.

After the seed is sown make sure that you start taking care of the plants by watering them and recharging the soil periodically. In addition much water should not be given. If you search you will find equipment that releases water in drip form. This will make sure that the plants purchase the water adequately. On the other hand you have to ensure that the fertilizer you use is not too, otherwise the plants will die.

Now if you are sowing different types of plants that are diverse in nature then you can sow them in a sequence. Say, those that are going to grow tall can be sowed at the back; those that are going to grow thick and bushy can be sown in the middle and in the front those that will hang over the box’s edge. This will give an artistic look to the window garden. Outsiders looking inside the house will be captivated by it and you will find many people appreciating and staring at your house.
